At Solid Base Container Service, we stand behind the quality of our products and services. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for container purchases, rentals, and modifications. We believe in transparency and fair dealing with all our customers.

Quick Summary: Most refund requests must be made within 7 days of delivery. Custom modifications are generally non-refundable. Rental deposits may be partially refundable based on contract terms.

Container Purchases

New Containers

New (1-Trip) containers come with a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your new container, you may request a refund within 7 days of delivery, provided the container is:

  • In original, undamaged condition
  • Free from any modifications or alterations
  • Returned to our facility at your expense (shipping costs are non-refundable)

A restocking fee of 15% will apply to all returned new containers.

Used (Cargo Worthy) Containers

Used containers are inspected and certified as wind and watertight. If the container does not meet the advertised condition, you may request a refund or replacement within 7 days of delivery. The following conditions apply:

  • Cosmetic imperfections (dents, scratches, rust) do not qualify for refunds as they are typical for used containers
  • Structural damage or water leakage that was not disclosed qualifies for full refund
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the product is defective

Wind & Watertight (WWT) Containers

WWT containers are sold as-is with guaranteed wind and watertight integrity. If your container fails the watertight test upon delivery, please document the issue immediately and contact us. We will either:

  • Arrange for repairs at no cost to you
  • Provide a replacement container
  • Issue a full refund including delivery costs

As-Is Containers

As-Is containers are sold with full disclosure of their condition. Due to the nature of these units, no refunds are offered for As-Is containers. We encourage customers to inspect As-Is containers at our facility prior to purchase.

Modifications & Custom Work

Custom modifications are made-to-order specifically for your project. Therefore, modifications are generally non-refundable once work has commenced. However, we offer the following guarantees:

  • Quality Guarantee: If modification work does not meet agreed-upon specifications, we will correct the issue at no additional cost.
  • Cancellation Policy: Orders for custom modifications may be cancelled within 48 hours of deposit for a full refund. After 48 hours, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Material Costs: If materials have already been ordered for your modification, those costs will be deducted from any refund.
Important: All modification requests must be submitted in writing. Verbal agreements are not binding for refund purposes.

Container Rentals

Rental agreements are governed by the specific terms in your rental contract. Standard rental refund terms include:

  • Security Deposits: Fully refundable upon return of the container in good condition, less any damages beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Monthly Rentals: Pre-paid rent is non-refundable for partial months. Early termination may incur a fee equivalent to one month's rent.
  • Long-Term Rentals: 30-day written notice is required for termination. Pre-paid amounts for months beyond the termination date will be refunded.
  • Damages: Any damage to the container during the rental period will be assessed and deducted from the security deposit.

Delivery Charges

Delivery fees are generally non-refundable once a delivery has been scheduled and dispatched. Exceptions include:

  • Failed Delivery: If our driver is unable to deliver due to site inaccessibility that was not disclosed at the time of booking, delivery fees are non-refundable.
  • Incorrect Product: If we deliver the wrong container or specification, delivery fees will be refunded along with the product refund.
  • Cancelled Delivery: If you cancel a delivery with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the delivery charge applies.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us within the applicable refund period via email or phone.
  2. Provide your order number, delivery date, and detailed reason for the refund request.
  3. Include photographs or video documentation of any alleged defects or damage.
  4. Our customer service team will review your request within 2-3 business days.
  5. If approved, you will receive instructions for return or inspection.
  6. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days of approval.

Non-Refundable Items and Situations

The following items and situations are not eligible for refunds:

  • As-Is containers
  • Custom modifications after work has commenced
  • Delivery fees for successfully completed deliveries
  • Containers damaged by the customer after delivery
  • Normal cosmetic wear on used or WWT containers
  • Containers that have been altered or modified by the customer
  • Orders cancelled after the cancellation period has expired

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute regarding a refund, we encourage customers to first contact our customer service team to seek an amicable resolution. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the terms outlined in our Terms and Conditions. All arbitration proceedings shall take place in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
